Proyecto ingles
Theme: Freedom of expression and the
importance of critical thinking in the face of information presented by
national news, international news, social networks and local radio stations
regarding the mobility of workers in Ecuador since the approval of the
humanitarian law
Freedom of expression in Ecuador
is very important as it is highlighted in the Carta Magna, but many state
channels have been forced to show false information and for their own benefit,
journalists have been fired for mentioning some argument which refers to the
negative side of the state.
A clear example is the testimony
of a journalist that violence against media employees and their publications
and companies has increased dramatically in the last decade, particularly due
to the fall of totalitarian states, which has caused numerous civil conflicts
where journalists have been in the line of fire. It is also a prerequisite for
the very existence of a democratic society.
Every person has the right to
seek, receive and impart information and opinions freely in the terms stipulated
in Article 13 of the American Convention on Human Rights, but this is not
reflected in society because the public sectors are under pressure,
Every person has the right to
access information about himself or her. - Expeditiously and without charge,
whether it is contained in databases, public or private registers and, if
necessary, to update, rectify and/or amend it.
- Access to information held by
the State is a fundamental right of individuals
- Prior censorship, interference
or direct or indirect pressure on any expression, opinion or information
disseminated through any means of oral, written, artistic, visual or electronic
communication must be prohibited by law. -
- Everyone has the right to
communicate his or her views by any means and in any form.
- Preconditions
- Reservation of information
- The murder, kidnapping and
intimidation
- Privacy laws should not inhibit
or restrict the investigation and dissemination of public interest information
- Public officials are subject to
greater scrutiny by society
- Monopolies and oligopolies
- The use of state power and
public finance resources
In spite of all this, the government
tries to put pressure on journalists, demonstrators, etc. in an indirect way.
In conclusion everything that is
happening has no remedy, this is called corruption and licentiousness, people
from the public sectors focusing on the political field believe that they have
the power to manipulate the knowledge of the people but that is not so, since
there is even 10% of people who are against paternalism and do not believe in
sources of information that are part of the state, since they distort the information
and end up with a concept of pejorative people.
